My first attempt at blogging has hit a slight snafu --- and I have had to change my blog address. I kept getting error messages when signing in and so after trying a number of workarounds, I gave up and created a whole new address.
Ah well, the person at the IU HELP desk who was just assisting me said that Blogger is not his first choice as a blogging tool, because he has helped a number of people who have encountered similar issues to mine, so I shouldn't feel to bad. This "kind of" cheered me up.
Now to the main part of my post. I have happily been researching the topic of "Sleep and Health" and have found some interesting digital and hard copy resources.
A number of the resources have a theme running through them and that theme is that sleep as an activity often gets a bad wrap, meaning that a whole lot of people think that sleep is a waste of time and that you can sleep all you want when you are dead.
Well, kind of morbidly funny that they make the comment about "sleeping when you are dead" because interestingly enough, lack of sleep --- in various ways --- can speed up a person's date with death.
The correlation between sleep and death was really not one that I was looking for when starting my search and inquiry into this topic . . . but it certainly does keep coming up again and again in the materials that I have been reading.
So stay tuned for more details on how to get enough sleep and stay alive!
For now I am signing off, so that I can happily be asleep very soon.
